De Beers has demonstrated an updated version of your device for the automated screening of diamonds "chalk" in Hong Kong on Wednesday. The company said that the device can check a wide range of undisclosed synthetic diamonds at a faster pace.
The new version was launched in response to customer requests, since, in particular, there has been an increase in cases of mixing undisclosed synthetic diamonds with lots of natural stones, explained Dzheymi Klark (Jamie Clark), the commercial director of the International Institute for the classification and research of diamonds (International Institute of Diamond Grading and Research, IIDGR) , which is a subsidiary of De Beers, developed the device.
"Confidence is the main concept in the diamond sector, and AMS2 device will play a major role in maintaining confidence in commercial transactions", - added the President IIDGR Jonathan Kendall (Jonathan Kendall) during the presentation of the car at the show in Hong Kong.
AMS2 allows screening stones in size up to 0,003 carats, while the first-generation car could check the size of the diamonds and 0.10 carats. It is very important for the watch industry, which, in particular, working with smaller diamonds than 0.10 carats, Kendall explained.
AMS2 also checks all the forms and cut stones ranging from 0.10 carats to fancy.
