Lucapa Diamond, which is currently developing the Lulo concession in Angola with Endiama and Rosas & Petalas, recently obtained a exploration license in the Orapa region of Botswana.
The company received a license as part of a competitive tender conducted by the Botswana mining department, company representatives said in a shareholder report.
The license area is located approximately 40 km east of the Orapa mine, owned by Debswana, a joint venture between De Beers and the government of Botswana.
Two previously discovered kimberlites were located within the license area, the company said.
The license covers a total of 16.2 square meters. Km and was issued for a period of 3 years, which ends on September 30, 2018.
In Lucapa, they said that a detailed exploration program for the new project was being developed.
