High-ranking representatives of the Indian Council for Promoting exports of gems and jewelery (Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, GJEPC) recently held a meeting with a visiting delegation of the diamond mining company Rio Tinto on a number of key issues of the industry, including diamond marketing as product categories and synthetic diamonds problem according gjepc.org

Also present at the meeting Ashok Gadzhera (Ashok Gajera), Sanjay Shah (Sanjay Shah), Manish P. Givani (Manish P. Jivani) of GJEPC, and Patrick Coppens (Patrick Coppens), general manager of sales of diamond division Rio Tinto, and Vikram Merchant (Vikram Merchant), manager of the Indian representative company Rio Tinto.
Pandya presented a short presentation on a number of recent initiatives GJEPC. He talked about the marketing campaigns of diamonds as a product category, that have been planned in conjunction with the Association of Diamond Manufacturers (Diamond Producers Association, DPA) and De Beers, as well as the fact that the Council has discussed the possibility of such marketing initiatives with the Russian Alrosa. He called Rio Tinto to formulate plans to promote diamond products that can be applied to the markets of China, Vietnam and other countries.
After the story about the success of the Indian diamond trade center (IDTC) and special customs zone in the organization views the rough, Pandya told about the situation with synthetic diamonds and diamonds. Hennig Tenders will auction a fancy yellow diamond weighing 128.18 carats, which was recently discovered during the processing of ore piles at the Superkolong company of Batla Minerals SA in Kimberley, South Africa, IDEX Online reported.
The diamond, which has rare characteristics (this is a perfectly clean cutaway diamond in the form of an octahedron), will be sold at Fusion / Hennig Tenders trades, which will be held in November and early December.
