The delegation took part in the China International Summit of the diamond industry in 2016, which was held in Shenzhen on September 12. A number of Chinese trade associations, cutters, retailers and government officials also participated in the summit.
Pravinshankar Pandya spoke at the event, focusing on different aspects of the India-China cooperation. Later, he also took part in a roundtable on the topic of synthetic diamonds.
The delegation also visited the National gems testing center (National Gem Testing Centre, NGTC) , the official gemological laboratory Chinese jewelry industry.
Pandya and Bakool Mehta (Bakul Mehta), the Gemological Institute of India head (Gemmological Institute of India, GII) , also discussed the possibility of cooperation between GII and NGTC, especially in the exchange of information and training techniques.
