Cambodian Association of traders of gems and jewelery (Cambodian Gems & Jewelry Traders Association) plans to establish a specialized center for exhibitions of jewelery and precious stones for international traders and tourists who are looking for products of this kind in Cambodia.
Press secretary of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce Sang Zophar (Seung Sophari) said in an interview Khmer Times, that the center will be created in the Ministry building, but she could not specify when it will be created as the association is still studying the project.
"Before, we did not have a joint exhibition center for uniting associations and industry of gems and jewelry, and the fair was held in the center of exhibitions and conferences Koh Pich But the new exhibition center for all members of the industry will be created in a single place." - continues Zophar.
"The Association aims to increase the attractiveness of the jewelry industry, as well as to improve its presence in the market and a permanent base. This year the fair of gems and jewelry in Cambodia held on June 16-19 in the venue Diamond Island. Last year the event attracted 54 exhibitors from Cambodia, Hong Kong and Macao, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and the United States.
